NissanNissan is a Japanese car manufacturer, one of the largest in the world. The company was founded in 1933. As of 2010, it ranks 8th in the world ranking of automakers (3rd among Japanese manufacturers, after Toyota and Honda) according to the international market research institute IHS Automotive. The headquarters have been located in Yokohama since 2011 (previously located in Tokyo).

All Nissan engines have their own index in the form of a unique abbreviation:

  • the first two letters are the proper name of the powertrain family;
  • the next two digits are its working volume in liters multiplied by 10;
  • the letters at the end describe the brief specifications of the motor.
