Rover engines

RoverRover is a British automobile company. Was abolished in 2005, the Chinese company SAIC wanted to buy the Rover brand, but the brand was sold to Ford. Currently, cars under the Rover brand are not produced.

The index of each power unit consists of five characters, three numbers and a pair of letters:

  • The first two digits indicate the volume of the engine in liters multiplied by ten;
  • The third character indicates which series this motor belongs to (except for diesel engines);
  • The fourth digit is the number of valves per cylinder, two or four respectively;
  • The fifth letter separates the units within their series and the older it is, the newer the motor.

The catalog contains engines for the following Rover models: 200 | 400 | 600.

Engine Rover 11K4F

The 1.1-liter 16-valve Rover 11K4F engine was assembled by the company from 2000 to 2005 and was installed only on the 25 model and in one single modification with a capacity of 75 hp. There were 8-valve versions 11K2A, 11K2D, equipped with a carburetor and single injection.

Engine Rover 14K2F

The 1.4-liter 8-valve Rover 14K2F engine was produced by the company from 1994 to 1999 and was installed on models with an index of 100, 200 and 400 in one single version with 75 hp. Modifications of this engine with a carburetor and single injection were called 14K2A, 14K2C and 14K2D.

Engine Rover 14K4F

The 1.4-liter 16-valve Rover 14K4F engine was produced by the company from 1991 to 2005 and was installed on models with indexes 100, 200 and 400 in two different versions for 83 and 103 hp. There were versions of this unit with indices 14K4C and 14K4D, equipped with a single injection.

Engine Rover 16K4F

The 1.6-liter gasoline engine Rover 16K4F was produced by the company from 1995 to 2005 and was installed on the concern’s models with indexes 200 and 400, as well as similar 25 and 45. This unit can be found under the hood of the popular MG ZS and TF cars in the UK.

Engine Rover 18K4F

The 1.8-liter Rover 18K4F engine was produced at the company’s factories from 1995 to 2006 and was installed on almost all cars of the concern, including the Land Rover Freelander crossover. On most models, it developed from 115 to 120 hp, and on the MG F it was boosted to 135 hp.

Engine Rover 18K4G

The 1.8-liter turbo engine Rover 18K4G or Rover 75 1.8 turbo was produced from 2002 to 2005 and was installed only on the 75 model and similar sedan and wagon produced under the MG brand. This power unit exists in a single modification with a capacity of 150 hp and 215 Nm.

Engine Rover 20T4H

The 2.0-liter Rover 20T4H engine was assembled at a plant in the UK from 1991 to 1999 and installed on advanced modifications of popular models with an index of 200, 400 and 800. This power unit was also installed on the basic versions of the first generation Land Rover Discovery.

Engine Rover 20M4F

The 2.0-liter 16-valve Rover 20M4F or 20HDM16 engine was assembled from 1986 to 1995 and put on the 800 model until its restyling in 1991, then on advanced versions of the 200 and 400. There is a 120-hp modification of this unit with single injection and a 177-hp turbo engine.

Engine Rover 20T4G

The 2.0-liter Rover 20T4G turbo engine was produced in the UK from 1991 to 1999 and was installed on charged versions of the concern’s popular models with an index of 200, 400, 600 and 800. Engineers had to limit the torque of this engine due to the weak PG1 gearbox.

Engine Rover 46F2F

The 4.6-liter gasoline V8 engine Rover 46F2F was produced in America from 2003 to 2005 and was installed on a charged modification of the model with an index of 75 and a similar MG ZT. You can find the same power unit under the hood of the fourth generation Ford Mustang GT.

Engine Rover 20K4N

The 2.0-liter Rover 20K4N engine was assembled at a factory in the UK from 1998 to 2004 and installed on the most popular concern models of its time with indexes 45 and 75. Unlike its older brother, this engine was offered in only one version with a capacity of 150 hp.

The 2.0-liter Rover 20T2R diesel engine was produced by the company from 1995 to 2000 and was installed on the basic modifications of models with an index of 200 in the RF body or 400 in the RT body. The same power unit was installed on the European versions of the sixth generation Honda Civic.

Engine Rover 20T2N

The 2.0-liter diesel engine Rover 20T2N was produced by the concern from 1994 to 2005 and was installed on models with indices 200, 400, 600, as well as the first generation Land Rover Freelander. The same power unit is found on European versions of the sixth generation Honda Accord.
