Great WallGreat Wall is a large privately-owned car manufacturer in China. The holding includes four automobile manufacturing enterprises and 20 subsidiaries producing automobile components.

A certain logic in the index is present in new motor models:

  • The first letters GW here denote the name of the manufacturer Great Wall.
  • Next is the number of cylinders, usually four.
  • The next letter is the type of fuel consumed: D-diesel, B, C, G – gasoline.
  • The next two digits are the displacement in liters multiplied by 10.
  • At the end is a symbol that separates the same motors in the line.

Engine Great Wall GW4N20

The 2.0-liter Great Wall GW4N20 turbo engine has been produced at the Hycet factory since 2020 and is installed on popular models such as the Dargo or the third generation of the H6 crossover. This gasoline engine stands out in its lineup for its work on the Miller economical cycle.

Engine Great Wall GWE20CB

The 2.0-liter Great Wall GW E20CB engine has been produced at Hycet factories since 2020 and is installed both on SUVs with a longitudinal engine, such as the Tank 300, and on models with a transverse engine, such as Wey VV5, VV6 or VV7 crossovers.

Engine Great Wall GW6Z30

The 3.0-liter Great Wall GW6Z30 V6 engine has been produced at the Hycet plant since 2021 and is installed only on the largest models of the concern, such as the Tank 500 SUV and the Pao pickup truck. The unit is distinguished by the presence of dual turbocharging, as well as combined fuel injection.

Engine Great Wall GW4G15

The 1.5-liter Great Wall GW4G15 engine has been produced at the Chinese plant since 2008 and is installed on such popular models as the Hover M2, M4 or the similar Haval H1. This power unit was essentially a licensed copy of the Japanese Toyota 1NZ-FE engine.

Engine Great Wall GW4G15B

The 1.5-liter turbo engine Great Wall GW4G15B has been produced at the concern’s factory since 2013 and is installed on such popular models of the Chinese company as the Hover H6 and Hawal H6. This motor is essentially a supercharged version of the famous Japanese Toyota 1NZ-FE engine.

The 2.0-liter Great Wall 4G63S4M gasoline engine has been produced in China since 2004 and is installed on many models of the concern, but this unit is better known for the Hover H3 SUV. Based on the Mitsubishi 4G63 engine, engines for Brilliance, Chery, Landwind and Zotye cars were created.

The 1.5-liter Great Wall GW4B15 turbo engine has been assembled at a Chinese factory since 2018 and is installed on the basic modifications of the group’s most popular F7 and F7x crossovers. In some markets, such a turbo engine in 2020 gave way to the updated GW4B15A unit.

The 1.5-liter Great Wall GW4B15A engine has been produced at a facility in China since 2020 and is installed in the popular F7 crossover and the similar F7x. This turbo engine differs from its predecessor in a different turbine and injection system of 350 bar.

Engine Great Wall GW4B15D

The 1.5-liter turbo Great Wall GW4B15D engine has been produced at the factory in China since 2021 and is currently installed only on all-wheel drive versions of the popular Jolion crossover. This power unit differs from its predecessor by a very high compression ratio of 11.8.

Engine Great Wall GW4C20

The 2.0-liter turbo engine Great Wall GW4C20 or 2.0 GDIT was produced from 2013 to 2019 and was installed on such popular concern models as the H6 Coupe, H8 and H9 before restyling. Many sources confuse this motor with the GW4C20NT engine, which was installed on the F7 and F7x crossovers.

The 2.0-liter Great Wall GW4C20A gasoline engine has been produced in China since 2017 and is installed only on a restyled version of the popular Haval H9 SUV. Such a power unit is essentially a forced version of the engine under the symbol GW4C20.

The 2.0-liter Great Wall GW4C20B turbo engine has been assembled at the concern’s factory since 2019 and installed on the Chinese version of the Poer pickup truck, and from 2021 on Haval H9 SUVs. Thanks to the presence of a particulate filter, this gasoline engine complies with Euro 6 environmental standards.

Engine Great Wall GW4C20NT

The 2.0-liter turbo engine Great Wall GW4C20NT has been produced by the concern only since 2018 and is installed on the very popular F7 crossover and the similar F7x. A number of sources confuse this motor with its predecessor, which had the GW4C20 index.

Engine Great Wall GW2.8TC

The 2.8-liter Great Wall GW2.8TC diesel engine was produced in China from 2006 to 2011 and was installed on the popular Hover H2 SUV or a similar Wingle 3 pickup truck. This unit is a clone of the Isuzu 4JB1 diesel engine with the Bosch CRS2.0 fuel system.

The 2.0-liter Great Wall GW4D20 diesel engine has been produced in Baoding since 2010 and is installed in SUVs or pickup trucks of the concern, better known for the Hover H5 model. There is a modification of this unit for a transverse arrangement with the index GW4D20B.

The 2.0-liter Great Wall GW4D20B diesel engine has been produced in China since 2011 and is installed in the popular Hover H6 SUV or similar Haval H6. In fact, such a unit is a modification of the GW4D20 motor for a transverse arrangement.

Engine Great Wall GW4D20D

The 2.0-liter Great Wall GW4D20D diesel engine has been produced in China only since 2018 and is installed on the Wingle 7 pickup truck. This power unit was essentially a further development of the popular GW4D20 engine.

Engine Great Wall GW4D20T

The 2.0-liter Great Wall GW4D20T diesel engine has been produced by the concern since 2017 and is installed on a restyled modification of the popular Haval H9 SUV. Such a power unit is essentially a seriously upgraded version of the GW4D20 diesel engine.

Engine Great Wall GW4D20M

The 2.0-liter Great Wall GW4D20M diesel engine has been produced in China only since 2019 and is installed in the Poer pickup truck, known in other countries as Pao, Cannon or Ute. In some markets, the power of this motor is specifically reduced to a tax-friendly 150 hp.
