Chrysler engines

ChryslerChrysler is an American automobile company. Since the beginning of 2014, it has been under 100% control of the Italian car manufacturer Fiat. It produces passenger cars of the brands Chrysler, SRT, RAM, Dodge and Jeep, and earlier Plymouth, DeSoto, Imperial and Eagle.

The name of most of the company's engines consists of three Latin letters:

  • The first letter is always “E”, which stands for Engine;
  • The second letter indicates the engine family;
  • And the third letter is given to the units of the line as they are placed on the conveyor.

The catalog contains engines for the following Chrysler models: 200 | Cirrus | Crossfire | LeBaron | New Yorker | Saratoga | Sebring.

Engine Mercedes M112 E32

The Mercedes M112 E32 engine was developed in 1997 to replace the old E32 engine from the M104 series. The main difference between the new series and the old one was that now the motors became V-shaped with a breakup angle of 90 degrees.

Engine Mitsubishi 6G73

The company assembled the Mitsubishi 6G73 2.5-liter V6 gasoline engine from 1990 to 2002 and installed both on its models and on Dodge and Chrysler, as well as on Hyundai under the G6AV index. This motor exists in three different versions, including GDi direct fuel injection.

Engine Jeep EVE

The 4.7-liter petrol V8 Jeep EVE engine was produced by the company from 2008 to 2013 and was installed on charged versions of such models as Grand Cherokee, Commander, Aspen. This motor was distinguished by an electronic throttle and new cylinder heads with two candles per cylinder.

Engine Jeep EVA

The 4.7-liter V8 Jeep EVA or PowerTech 4.7 Corsair engine was produced from 1998 to 2013 and was installed in pickups and SUVs such as Ram, Durango, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee. There was a Flex-Fuel version of this power unit under its own EVD index.

Engine Jeep EXL

The 3.0-liter diesel V6 Jeep EXL or 3.0 CRD engine was produced from 2005 to 2010 and was installed in the Chrysler 300 sedan and the popular SUV Grand Cherokee, Commander. Such a diesel engine was supplied by Daimler AG and has its own index OM642 DE 30 LA.

Engine Chrysler EDJ

The 2.2-liter Chrysler EDJ or 2.2 CRD diesel engine was produced from 2002 to 2009 and was installed on the European version of the PT Cruiser, until 2005 it developed 121 hp, and after 150 hp. This Daimler AG diesel engine has its own OM 644 index and is a variation of the OM 646.

Engine Chrysler ECD

The 2.0-liter Chrysler ECD or 2.0 CRD diesel engine was produced from 2006 to 2011 and was installed on European versions of a number of popular models such as Avenger, Caliber, Sebring. This diesel engine is essentially a Volkswagen 2.0 TDI engine, which is known under the BYL index.

Engine Chrysler ERB

Chrysler’s ERB 3.6-liter V6 engine has been assembled at three factories since 2010 and installed in all of its large models, including Dodge, Jeep, Fiat and Lancia. This unit was upgraded in 2016 and the updated version is being produced in parallel.

Engine Chrysler EGF

The 3.5-liter V6 Chrysler EGF engine was produced by the American company from 2006 to 2010 and installed on its most popular models, such as Sebring, Avenger, and Journey. This version of the motor was upgraded for a transverse arrangement under the hood of a car.

Engine Chrysler ESF

The Chrysler ESF or HEMI 6.1 6.1-liter V8 engine was assembled in Mexico from 2005 to 2010 and installed in charged versions of the 300C, Charger, Magnum and Grand Cherokee SRT8 models. Such a unit was not equipped with either an MDS cylinder deactivation system or a VCT phase regulator.

Engine Chrysler EGG

The Chrysler EGG 3.5-liter 24-valve V6 engine was produced from 1998 to 2010 and equipped models on the LH and LX platforms, such as 300C, 300M, LHS, Concorde and Charger. There was a slightly less powerful version of the EGJ unit and a slightly more powerful modification of the EGK.

Engine Jeep EXF

The 3.0-liter diesel V6 Jeep EXF or 3.0 CRD engine has been assembled by the company since 2010 and is installed on the Chrysler 300C sedan in the LD body, the Grand Cherokee crossover in the WK2 body. This diesel, also known as the A630 DOHC, was jointly developed by Fiat Powertrain and VM Motori.

Engine Dodge ECB

The 2.0-liter Dodge ECB or A588 engine was assembled at the Trenton plant from 1994 to 2005 and installed on such well-known models of the American concern as Breeze, Neon, Stratus. Versions of this unit before 2001 and after have many differences and are not interchangeable.

Engine Dodge EDV

The 2.4-liter Dodge EDV turbo engine was produced at the concern’s factories from 2002 to 2009 and was installed on charged versions of a number of models, such as the PT Cruiser GT or Neon SRT-4. There was a slightly deformed version of this power unit under the EDT index.

Engine Chrysler ENR

Chrysler’s 2.8-liter ENR or 2.8 CRD diesel engine was produced from 2000 to 2007 and was installed in the popular Voyager minivan, as well as the Cherokee / Liberty KJ SUV. This diesel engine is developed by the Italian company VM Motori and is known under the R428 DOHC index.

Engine Dodge ECN

The Dodge ECN 2.0-liter gasoline engine was produced by the company from 2006 to 2016 and was installed on such popular models as Avenger, Caliber, as well as Jeep Compass and Patriot. This motor was created jointly with Hyundai and Mitsubishi as part of the World Gasoline Engine Alliance.

Engine Chrysler EGE

The Chrysler EGE 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine was produced by the company from 1992 to 1997 and was installed in many models on the LH platform, such as the Concorde, LHS, Intrepid and Vision. Only this unit had a cast-iron block, all subsequent motors in the series came with aluminum.

Engine Chrysler EDT

The 2.4-liter Chrysler EDT turbo engine was assembled at the company’s plant from 2002 to 2009 and was installed only on charged versions of the PT Cruiser model with manual and automatic transmissions. This power unit is essentially a derated version of the famous EDV turbo engine.

Engine Dodge EGW

The Dodge EGW 3.2-liter V6 gasoline engine was produced by the concern from 1997 to 2001 and was installed only on a couple of related models: the second-generation Concorde and Intrepid. There was a slightly less powerful version of this power unit under a different EKK index.

Engine Jeep ENS

The 2.8-liter R4 diesel engine Jeep ENS or 2.8 CRD was produced from 2006 to 2018 and was installed on the Grand Voyager minivan or SUVs Cherokee, Liberty, Wrangler, Nitro. This diesel engine manufactured by the Italian company VM Motori is also known as the RA 428 DOHC.

Engine Chrysler EDZ

The 2.4-liter 16-valve Chrysler EDZ engine was produced in Mexico from 1995 to 2010 and was installed on many popular models of the company, such as Cirrus, Sebring, Stratus, PT Cruiser.

Engine Jeep ED6

The company has been producing the 2.4-liter Jeep ED6 or Tigershark petrol engine since 2012 and powering its most popular models such as the Cherokee, Compass and Renegade. This power unit is distinguished by an unusual cylinder head with MultiAir technology.

Engine Chrysler ENJ

Chrysler’s 2.5-liter ENJ or 2.5 CRD diesel engine was produced from 2000 to 2007 and installed on the Voyager RS minivan or the KJ Cherokee / Liberty SUV. This diesel engine manufactured by the Italian company VM Motori is also known as the R425 DOHC.

Engine Dodge EZH

The 5.7-liter V8 Dodge EZH or HEMI 5.7 engine has been produced at the plant in Mexico since 2008 and is installed on such popular company models as the Challenger, Charger, Grand Cherokee. This engine belongs to an updated line with a variable valve timing system VCT.

Engine Chrysler EGA

The Chrysler EGA 3.3-liter V6 gasoline engine was produced by the company from 1989 to 2010 and was installed on many models, including the popular Caravan, Voyager, Town & Country minivans. There was an ethanol or FlexFuel version of this unit under its own EGM index.

Engine Chrysler EGN

The Chrysler EGN 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine was produced in the USA from 2003 to 2006 and was installed only in the pre-facelift version of the popular US Pacifica model. The power unit was equipped with a variable geometry intake manifold and an EGR valve.

Engine Chrysler ECC

The 2.0-liter 16-valve Chrysler ECC or 420A engine was produced from 1994 to 2005 and was installed on many popular concern models such as Neon, Avenger, Sebring, PT Cruiser. There were several versions of this motor, which were very different from each other.

Engine Chrysler EJD

The Chrysler EJD 1.6-liter gasoline engine was produced in Brazil from 2000 to 2010 and was installed in two of the company’s models for the European automotive market: the PT Cruiser and the Neon. This Tritec motor is also known for the Mini small cars and the Chinese like Lifan 520.

Engine Chrysler EER

The Chrysler EER 2.7-liter V6 petrol engine was produced in the USA from 1997 to 2010 and was installed on the company’s most popular models such as the Concorde, Sebring, Magnum 300C and 300M. There were several varieties of this unit under other indices: EES, EEE, EE0.

Engine Dodge EGH

The Dodge EGH 3.8-liter V6 gasoline engine was produced by the company from 1990 to 2011 and was installed on many popular models, including Caravan and Town & Country minivans. This power unit was highly reliable, but consumed a lot of fuel.

Engine Chrysler EBD

The Chrysler EBD 1.8-liter gasoline engine was produced in Trenton from 1994 to 1999 and was installed only on the European modification of the very first generation of the Neon model.

Engine Jeep ENC

The 2.5-liter 4-cylinder Jeep ENC diesel engine was produced from 1991 to 2001 and was installed on Cherokee and Grand Cherokee SUVs, as well as Voyager and Caravan minivans. This diesel engine developed by the Italian company VM Motori is also known as 425 OHV.

Engine Dodge ESG

The 6.4-liter V8 engine Dodge ESG or HEMI 6.4 has been assembled at a plant in Mexico since 2010 and is put on charged versions of the Challenger, Charger, Grand Cherokee models with the SRT8 index. This unit is equipped with an MDS half-cylinder deactivation system and a VCT phase regulator.

Engine Dodge ED3

The 2.4-liter Dodge ED3 engine has been assembled at the factories of the American company since 2006 and is installed on many popular concern models, such as the Avenger, Caliber, Sebring and Journey. There is a particularly environmentally friendly PZEV version of this power unit under the EDG index.

Engine Chrysler EGQ

Chrysler’s EGQ 4.0-liter V6 engine was produced at the Trenton plant from 2006 to 2010 and was used in popular models such as the Pacifica, Grand Caravan and Town&Country minivans. There is a slightly more powerful version of this power unit with its own EMM index.

Engine Chrysler EZB

The Chrysler EZB or HEMI 5.7 5.7-liter V8 engine was produced in Mexico from 2004 to 2008 and was installed on top versions of well-known models such as the 300C, Charger or Grand Cherokee. This power unit was equipped with an MDS half-cylinder off-load system.
