MitsubishiMitsubishi Motors is a Japanese automobile manufacturer, part of the Mitsubishi Group, which is the largest manufacturing group in Japan. The headquarters is in Tokyo. In 1970, Mitsubishi Motors was formed from the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries division.

The name of most of the company’s engines consists of four characters: three numbers and one letter between them.

  • The first digit indicates the number of engine cylinders: 3, 4, 6 and 8, respectively;
  • The second letter here is the type of fuel consumed: G, A, B, J – gasoline and D, M, N – diesel;
  • The third digit indicates the series number: usually the higher the number, the newer the series;
  • The fourth digit indicates the position of the unit in its lineup, and everything is the same here.

Engine Mitsubishi 3G81

The 0.5-liter 3-cylinder Mitsubishi 3G81 engine was produced only from 1987 to 1993 and was installed on such popular kei cars of the Japanese concern as Minica, Minicab and Bravo. There are five versions of the unit, many were equipped with a cylinder head with five valves per cylinder.
