Disadvantages of the Mitsubishi 3A92 engine
- The Japanese market version of the engine has a high compression ratio and is prone to detonation;
- However, the main complaints of the owners are related to the oil burner due to the occurrence of rings;
- A thin timing chain usually changes up to 150,000 km and often together with a phase shifter;
- Weaknesses include a buggy electric throttle, ignition coils and a thermostat;
- Since there are no hydraulic lifters, valve clearances need to be adjusted periodically.
