Nissan X-Trail
The Nissan X-Trail is a Japanese compact crossover vehicle manufactured by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. since 2001. Since 2013, the 3rd generation of the model has been produced. In 2017, it was updated. The 1st generation car was built on the Nissan FF-S platform, the 2nd on the Nissan C, and the 3rd on the CMF. The car was manufactured in Japan, Indonesia, Turkey, Thailand, Latin America and China. The model is not widespread in the North American market, only the 1st generation was sold in Canada.
Nissan X-Trail, 1st generation (T30), 2000–2009
The Nissan X-Trail crossover began to be produced in Japan in 2000, and a year later export deliveries of the car to other countries started. This model was never sold in the US, although it was available in Canada and Mexico.
The Nissan X-Trail was offered with 2.0 (140 hp) and 2.5 (165 hp) petrol engines, as well as a 2.2-liter turbodiesel with 136 hp. Crossovers had both four-wheel drive and front-wheel drive modifications.
In Japan, in addition to cars with a two-liter engine (150 hp), a powerful Nissan X-Trail GT was available, equipped with a 2.0 turbocharged engine developing 280 forces, all-wheel drive and automatic transmission.
In 2004, a barely noticeable restyling of the model was carried out, and in 2007 its sales in most countries ceased. However, in Taiwan, the release of X-Trails for the local market continued until 2009, and they had a slightly different body design.
Nissan X-Trail, 2nd generation (T31), 2007–2014
Debuting in 2007, the second-generation Nissan X-Trail is slightly larger than the outgoing model, and the most noticeable change to the interior is the instrumentation, which has moved from the center of the dash to its traditional position in front of the driver. The crossover was created on the Nissan C platform, common with the first generation Qashqai.
Initially, cars were sold with gasoline engines 2.0 (141 hp) and 2.5 (169 hp), paired with a manual gearbox or CVT. Later, the lineup was replenished with a version with a two-liter turbodiesel with a capacity of 150 hp, for which a six-speed automatic transmission was offered as an option. There was also a version on the Japanese market, which had a two-liter diesel engine under the hood, developing 173 hp.
In 2010, the model was restyled, slightly changing its appearance. In Japan, the production of cars ended in 2013. In 2015, the car returned to the Chinese market under the new name Dongfeng Fengdu MX6.
Nissan X-Trail, 3rd generation (T32), 2014
The 3rd generation Nissan X-Trail in the T32 body was produced by the Japanese concern from 2013 to 2022. On the same platform is a similar Rogue crossover and the second generation Renault Koleos.
The pre-styling version was sold from 2013 to 2017. In the European market, a 1.6 MR16DDT gasoline turbo engine and a 2.0 M9R diesel engine were installed. The restyled version of the crossover debuted in 2017. In the European market, a 1.3 HR13DDT gasoline turbo engine and a 1.7 R9N diesel engine were installed.
