Disadvantages of the SR20VET engine
- This engine is very demanding on the quality of oil and fuel;
- Cheap lubrication quickly affects the operation of the turbine and the phase control system;
- Problems with floating idle speeds are associated with failures of the idle speed controller and the mass air flow sensor;
- The sources of leaks are usually the crankshaft oil seal and the oil pressure sensor;
- On runs of 200 – 250 thousand km, the timing chain often stretches and rattles here.
