Engine Nissan QR20DE

The QR20DE powertrain does not represent anything outstanding. This is a conventional 2.0-liter engine with an aluminum BC and a short service life. According to the manufacturer, if you use the QR20DE unit sparingly, then its resource will reach 200 thousand kilometers. Unlike its predecessor, the SR20DE, the new QR20DE features individual ignition coils and an improved cylinder head. The IFGR system on the intake shaft was also added, and balance shafts began to be responsible for the smooth operation. Due to the lack of hydraulic lifters, it will be necessary to adjust the valve clearances every 100 thousand kilometers. Continue reading Engine Nissan QR20DE

The start of engine production according to various sources dates back to 2004 or 2005 and is produced to this day. First, it was installed on the Nissan Lafesta and Nissan Serena minivans, as well as on the Nissan Bluebird Sylphy sedan (in Russia, Nissan Almera, produced at AvtoVAZ facilities). Since 2006, it has been installed on the Nissan Qashqai (Dualis in Japan, in America – Rogue), and since 2007 on the Nissan X-trail. This engine is installed not only on Nissan cars, but also on Renault cars such as: Renault Clio, Renault Laguna, Renault Mégane and others. The VQ35 engine is considered one of the most massive engines from the Nissan company. This ICE has received more than one award, becoming the “best engine of the year”. The VQ35 replaces the VQ30DE unit, which belonged to the first generation of VQ motors. This new 3.5-liter engine, in the most common version, has a capacity of 280 horsepower. It should be added that in its (second) generation, the VQ35 had versions with a capacity of 230-250 forces, and in the third – 260-300. Continue reading Engine Nissan VQ35DE

Engine Nissan QR25DE

The QR25DE aluminum engine is rated as a weak “four”. He is a clearly pronounced “disposable” with a mileage of just over 200 with an extremely attentive and careful attitude. The QR25DE appeared by significantly expanding the piston stroke (by 20 mm) for the two-liter QR20DE with the replacement of the crankshaft and the camshaft at the outlet. Lubrication and resource depletion problems are more common here, but after 2007 the engine was modified and became much better. There are quite a few turbo whales designed for ICEs to play around with power and performance. Continue reading Engine Nissan QR25DE
