Ford Mondeo

The Ford Mondeo is a mid-range car produced since 1993 by the European division of Ford. Since 2014, the 4th generation of the model has been produced. Translated from French, the name of the car means “worldwide”. This reflects both the history of the creation and development of the model by all branches of the manufacturer, and its purpose – for sale around the world. The car was assembled in Belgium, China, Thailand and Russia. The maximum sales of Mondeo were recorded in the European market.

Engine Ford 2.2 TDCi

The 2.2-liter Ford 2.2 TDCi diesel engines were produced by the company from 2006 to 2018 and were installed on a number of popular models under the Ford, Land Rover and Jaguar brands. In fact, these power units are clones of the Peugeot DW12MTED4 and DW12CTED4 engines.

Engine Ford 1.6 TDCi

The 1.6-liter Ford 1.6 TDCi diesel engines were produced by the concern from 2004 to 2017 in two different generations: the first with a 16-valve cylinder head and the second with an 8-valve cylinder head. These diesels are known as Peugeot 1.6 HDi, Mazda 1.6 CiTD, Volvo D4162T and D4164T in other cars.

Engine Ford 1.5 TDCi

The 1.5-liter 8-valve Ford 1.5 TDCi diesel engines were introduced only in 2012 as a further development of the 1.6 TDCi series engines, developed jointly with the PSA concern. However, Peugeot-Citroen switched to their own line of 16-valve 1.5 HDi diesels.

Engine Ford RFN/RFM

The 1.8-liter Ford RFN, RFM or 1.8 Endura DE engine was produced from 1993 to 2000 and was installed in the first two generations of the very popular Mondeo model. This power unit had a bad reputation primarily because of its low reliability.

Engine Ford QJBB/QJBA

The 2.2-liter Ford QJBB, QJBA or 2.2 TDCi Duratorq engine was produced from 2004 to 2007 and was installed only on expensive modifications of the third generation of the Mondeo model. The motor is known for frequent problems with the Delphi common rail fuel system.

Engine Ford FMBA

The 2.0-liter Ford FMBA or 2.0 TDCi Duratorq engine was produced from 2002 to 2007 and was installed on the third generation of the very popular Mondeo model. This unit was disliked due to the vagaries of the Delphi Common Rail fuel system.

Engine Ford Q4BA

The 2.2-liter Ford Q4BA or 2.2 TDCi Duratorq DW engine was produced from 2008 to 2010 and was installed only on the top trim levels of the fourth Mondeo in the pre-facelift version. The unit is inherently a type of French diesel engine DW12BTED4.

Engine Ford D6BA

The 2.0-liter Ford D6BA engine or 2.0 TDDi Duratorq DI was produced from 2000 to 2002 and was installed only on the third generation of the Mondeo model and only before its first restyling. This diesel engine lasted two years on the market and gave way to a Common Rail unit.

Engine Ford D5BA

The 2.0-liter Ford D5BA or 2.0 TDDi Duratorq DI engine was produced from 2000 to 2005 and was installed only on the third generation of the very popular Mondeo model. This diesel modification was mainly intended for corporate fleets or taxis.

Engine Ford RKB

The 1.8-liter Ford RKB or 1.8 Zetec 16v engine was produced by the company from 1994 to 1998 and was installed on the first and second generations of the popular Mondeo model in all its bodies. A similar power unit was installed on the Escort, but only under its own RKC index.

Engine Ford NGA

The 2.0-liter Ford NGA or Mondeo 2.0 Zetec engine was produced from 1993 to 1998 and was installed on the first two generations of Mondeo in all the numerous bodies of this car. This is the only power unit in the line that existed in versions of both Zetec and Zetec-E.

Engine Ford L1N

The 1.6-liter Ford L1N or Mondeo 1.6 Zetec E 16v engine was produced from 1998 to 2000 and was installed on the second generation of the popular Mondeo model in several of its bodies. This power unit had several modifications under slightly different indices L1L and L1Q.

Engine Ford TPBA

The 2.0-liter Ford TPBA or Mondeo 4 2.0 EcoBoost engine was produced from 2010 to 2014 and was installed on a restyled version of the fourth generation of the popular Mondeo model. After the change of generations of the model, this power unit received a completely different R9CB index.

Engine Ford TNBB/TNBA

The 2.0-liter Ford TNBB / TNBA or 2.0 EcoBoost 200 engine was produced from 2010 to 2014 and was installed only on the fourth generation of the popular Mondeo model after restyling. Galaxy and S-MAX minivans were equipped with similar engines, but with TNWA and TNWB indices.

Engine Ford JTBA/JTBB

The 1.6-liter Ford JTBA / JTBB or 1.6 EcoBoost 160 engine was produced from 2010 to 2014 and was installed on a restyled version of the fourth generation of the famous Mondeo model. A similar power unit with the JTWA index and the JTWB index was installed on the S-Max and Galaxy minivans.

Engine Ford MEBA

The 3.0-liter Ford MEBA or 3.0 Duratec V6 ST engine was produced from 2002 to 2007 and was installed only on the most charged modification of the Mondeo model with the ST220 index. Due to the significant circulation of the machine, this power unit is quite common.

Engine Ford REBA

The 3.0-liter Ford REBA engine or 3.0 Duratec V6 SE was assembled in the USA from 2004 to 2007 and installed only on the most expensive and powerful versions of the Mondeo, except for the sports ST220. Structurally, this unit has a lot in common with the Mazda AJ-DE and Jaguar AJ30 engines.

Engine Ford LCBD

The 2.5-liter Ford LCBD engine or 2.5 Duratec V6 was produced in the USA from 2000 to 2007 and was installed only on the maximum configuration of the third generation of the popular Mondeo model. Structurally, this unit has a lot in common with the Mazda GY-DE or Jaguar AJ25 engine.

Engine Ford SGA

The 2.5-liter Ford SGA engine or 2.5 Duratec V6 ST was assembled in the USA from 1999 to 2000 and installed only on a charged version of the second generation Mondeo under the ST200 index. This power unit allowed a rather large car to accelerate to hundreds in 7.7 seconds.

Engine Ford PNBA

The 1.6-liter Ford PNBA or Mondeo 1.6 Duratec Ti-VCT engine was assembled from 2007 to 2010 and was installed only on the basic modifications of the second generation of the Mondeo model before restyling. After the 2010 update, this power unit was replaced by its Euro 5 version with the KGBA index.

Engine Ford HUBA

The 2.5-liter Ford HUBA turbo engine was produced at a plant in Sweden from 2007 to 2010 and was installed on all modifications of the fourth generation Mondeo, but only before restyling. This power unit is essentially similar to the Volvo engine under the B5254T3 index.

Engine Ford SEBA

The 2.3-liter Ford SEBA or 2.3 Duratec HE MI4 engine was produced only from 2007 to 2015 and was installed on the fourth generation of the rather popular Mondeo model. This power unit essentially did not differ from the well-known Mazda engine with the L3‑VE index.

Engine Ford CJBA/CJBB

The 2.0-liter Ford CJBA / CJBB or 2.0 Duratec HE engine was built from 2000 to 2007 and was installed in the third generation of the very popular Mondeo model. This motor is essentially just a variation of the Mazda MZR LF-DE power unit.

Engine Ford CHBA/CHBB

The 1.8-liter Ford CHBA / CHBB or 1.8L Duratec HE engine was produced from 2000 to 2007 and was installed on the third generation of the popular Mondeo model in all its bodies. This motor was developed by Mazda and is a type of engine with the L8-DE index.

Engine Ford CFBA

The 1.8-liter Ford CFBA or 1.8 Duratec SCi engine was produced only from 2003 to 2007 and was installed only on the third generation of the European version of the Mondeo after the first restyling. This power unit has earned a negative reputation due to the capricious fuel system.
