Opel Astra

Opel Astra is a compact class car from the German manufacturer Adam Opel AG. The production of the model began in 1991. The name Astra in Latin means – “star”. Since 2011, the 4th generation of machines of this model has been produced. Continuing the traditions of its predecessor, which for this model is the Opel Kadett, each new generation is designated by a Latin letter. In addition to Germany, the Astra is manufactured right-hand drive in the UK (Vauxhall Astra), as well as in China (Buick Excelle XT) and Latin America (Chevrolet Astra / Vectra).

Engine Opel X12XE

The 1.2-liter Opel X12XE or LW4 engine was assembled at a plant in Austria from 1998 to 2000 and installed on basic modifications of such popular models as Astra G or Corsa B. The unit belonged to the GM Family 0 engine series and, during the transition to Euro 4, changed the index to Z12XE.

Engine Opel A14NET/NEL

1.4-liter Opel A14NET or LUJ engine has been assembled since 2009 at the Wien-Aspern plant and is installed in a number of popular models of the company, such as Astra, Meriva, Mokka and Zafira. Now such units are gradually being replaced by modern Euro 6 engines of the new B-series.

Engine Opel A14XER

The 1.4-liter Opel A14XER or Ecotec LDD engine has been produced by the company since 2009 and is installed on such popular compact models of the concern as Corsa, Meriva, Adam. Now the units of this family are gradually being replaced by new Euro 6 B-series engines.

Engine Opel A16XER

The 1.6-liter Opel A16XER or Ecotec LDE engine has been produced by the concern since 2008 and is installed on the most popular models of the company, such as Astra, Zafira, Mokka, Insignia. Now such power units are gradually giving way to Euro 6 engines of the latest B-series.

The 1.6-liter Opel A16XHT or LVP engine has been produced since 2013 at the company’s Hungarian plant and is installed on advanced versions of such popular models as the Insignia and Astra. This power unit has a more powerful Performance Turbo version under the A16SHT index.

Engine Opel A20NFT

The 2.0-liter Opel A20NFT or LTG engine has been assembled since 2012 instead of the A20NHT engine and is installed on the restyled Insignia and the charged Astra modification with the OPC index. This power unit on the racing version of the Astra Touring Car Racing was boosted to 330 hp and 420 Nm.

Engine Opel C14NZ

The 1.4-liter Opel C14NZ engine was produced from 1989 to 1996 at a German company and was installed on the most popular models of its time, such as Astra, Corsa, Kadett. This power unit replaced the well-known C13N engine on the conveyor, then gave way to the X14XE.
