Disadvantages of the VW CZEA engine

  • Complicated and expensive ACT system causes uneven camshaft wear;
  • Owners of cars with such a power unit very often complain about the oil burner;
  • Also here, the thrust of the wastegate actuator of the turbine often wedges, and then breaks off;
  • The plastic pump with two thermostats is prone to leaks and needs to be replaced entirely;
  • Every 60,000 km, you need to check the timing belt or if it breaks, the valves will bend.
