Disadvantages of the VW CZDA engine

  • The most famous problem of the engines of this series is the oil burner due to the occurrence of rings;
  • In second place is the thrust wedge of the turbine wastegate actuator and then its breakdown;
  • Complex and expensive plastic pump with two thermostats is prone to leaks;
  • It is necessary to check the condition of the timing belt every 60,000 km; if it breaks, the valves bend;
  • Also, owners of cars with such a motor often complain about noise and rattling.
