Engine BMW N62B48

BMW N62B48 engine has two versions. Engine displacement, power, bore and stroke are the same for both versions: the displacement is 4.8 liters (4799 cc), the bore is 93 mm, and the piston stroke is 88.3 mm. The power output of one version is 265 kW (360 hp) at 6200 rpm and torque of 500 Nm at 3500 rpm. The second version TU develops power of 367 hp (270 kW) at 6300 rpm and torque of 490 Nm at 3400 rpm. Engine BMW M57D30

Motors of the M57 series began to be installed on Munich cars since 1998 and replaced the diesel M51. The new M57D30 engine was developed on the basis of its predecessor, it also uses a cast-iron cylinder block, but the diameter of the cylinders themselves is increased. Here is an aluminum DOHC head with 24 valves.
