In 2009, to replace two brands of engines, BMW released a fresh generation of N55B30 engines. The new engine had an aluminum cylinder block similar to the N54. The cylinder block had cast iron liners and oil nozzles, a crankshaft weighing 3 kg, modified pistons with connecting rods. The connecting rods were now 144.35 mm long. BMW 2-Series
The BMW 2-Series is a series of German golf-class cars from the manufacturer BMW AG. The production of the F22 coupe and F23 convertibles began in 2013, and the F45 compact van and its extended modification F46 – from 2014. Depending on the configuration, the vehicle has two gasoline and three diesel engines as powertrain options. The coupe and convertible are rear-wheel drive only, while the estate is front-wheel drive. BMW of the 2nd series was created on the modified platform models of the 1st series.

The four-cylinder N20B20 turbo engine began to be installed on BMW cars in 2011. The engine replaced the N53B25 and N53B30 units. The block of the new motor is made of aluminum alloy and contains two balance shafts. Steel-coated engine cylinders, forged crankshaft with four offset counterweights, 144.35mm long cranks.
