Toyota Town Ace

Toyota Town Ace is a Japanese 7-8 seater minivan class car of the Toyota Motor Corporation line. Manufactured for the Japanese domestic market since 1976. Its successor is currently believed to be Toyota Noah. The model itself was originally based on the compact ToyoAce truck, produced in the 50-60s. In 1993, the last third generation of the car was released on the basis of the CR31 body. The car was produced in full and front wheel drive configurations. In translation, the name of the model means “city ace”.

Engine Toyota 1Y

The 1.6-liter Toyota 1Y carbureted engine was produced by the company from 1982 to 1991 and was installed on Town Ace minibuses, Toyo Ace delivery trucks or Hiace Trucks. There was a version of this engine with an exhaust cleaning system with its own index 1Y-J.

Engine Toyota 2Y

The 1.8-liter Toyota 2Y carbureted engine was produced in Japan from 1982 to 1997 and was installed on Hiace and Town Ace minibuses, as well as Hilux pickups and their various clones. There were modifications of this motor with a catalyst 2Y-J, 2Y-U and a gas version 2Y-P.

Engine Toyota 3Y

The 2.0-liter Toyota 3Y carburetor engine was produced by the concern from 1982 to 1991 and was installed on Town Ace and Hiace minibuses, Hilux pickups, and Crown S120 sedans. There were modifications of the unit with a catalyst 3Y-C, 3Y-U and gas versions 3Y-P, 3Y-PU.

Engine Toyota 3Y-EU

The 2.0-liter Toyota 3Y-EU gasoline engine was produced by the concern from 1983 to 1996 and was installed on such popular minibuses as LiteAce, Master Ace or Town Ace. This unit can also be found under the hood of the Asian version of the Hilux 4Runner 61G SUV.

Engine Toyota 4Y

The 2.2-liter Toyota 4Y carbureted engine was produced by the company from 1985 to 1997 and was installed on the popular Town Ace and HiAce minibuses, Hilux pickups and Crown S130 sedans. Especially for commercial vehicles, a modification derated up to 70 hp was produced.

Engine Toyota 4Y-E

The 2.2-liter Toyota 4Y-E injection engine was produced by the concern from 1985 to 1996 and was installed on HiAce or Town Ace minibuses, Hilux pickups and 4Runner SUVs. After the end of production, the motor moved to China, where it is assembled as GW 491QE or Q491ME.

Engine Toyota 1C

The 1.8-liter Toyota 1C diesel engine was assembled at a Japanese plant from 1982 to 1992 and was installed in many compact models of its time, such as the Carina, Crown and Corolla. The transverse versions were commonly referred to as 1C-L and the catalyzed versions as 1C-LC.

Engine Toyota 2C

The 2.0-liter Toyota 2C diesel engine was assembled at a factory in Japan from 1983 to 2001 and was installed on many mid-size models of its time, such as the Crown, Carina, Corolla. With a transverse arrangement of this power unit under the hood, it was often called 2C-L.

Engine Toyota 3C

The 2.2-liter Toyota 3C-T turbo diesel engine was assembled by the concern from 1992 to 2001 and was installed on Camry-type passenger cars, Estima minivans, and Town Ace minibuses. This is the turbocharged version.
