Kia Rio

The Kia Rio is a South Korean small car manufactured since 2000 by the Kia Motors Corporation. Since 2016, the 4th generation of the model has been produced in sedan and hatchback bodies. The car is assembled in South Korea, Ecuador, Iran, Russia, China, Malaysia, Mexico and Algeria. In China, the car is officially sold under the name Kia K2 Cross. The car has a front-wheel drive layout and is equipped with gasoline and diesel engines.

Engine Hyundai-Kia G3LE

The 1.0-liter Hyundai G3LE engine has been produced by the Korean concern only since 2020 and is installed on such popular models as i10, i20, Bayon, as well as Kia Rio, Ceed and Stonic. This unit belongs to the Smartstream line and is often combined with the iMT manual transmission.

The 1.0-liter Hyundai G3LF or Smartstream G 1.0 T-GDI engine has been produced since 2020 and is installed on such popular concern models as Kona, Bayon, as well as Kia Stonic, Ceed and Rio. This motor is usually produced as a Mild Hybrid 48V and is combined with an iMT manual transmission.

Engine Hyundai G4LF

The 1.2-liter Hyundai G4LF or Smartstream G 1.2 MPI engine has been produced only since 2020 and is installed on such models of the Korean concern as i10, i20, Bayon, as well as Kia Picanto and Stonic. There are two versions of this engine: with distributed injection MPI, combined DPI.

Engine Kia A6D

The 1.6-liter Kia A6D engine was assembled at the factory of the Korean concern from 2001 to 2005 and was installed on the Rio, Sephia and Shuma models, a similar S6D was installed on the Spectra and Carens. Both of these power units in their design are only clones of the Mazda B6-DE engine.

The company produced the 1.4-liter 16-valve Hyundai G4EE engine from 2005 to 2012 and installed it on such popular models as the Getz, Accent or similar Kia Rio.

Hyundai’s 1.6-liter G4FD or 1.6 GDI engine was first introduced back in 2009 and is installed in a number of popular Hyundai models such as the Tucson, Veloster and Soul. This motor belongs to the Gamma II line and is distinguished by a direct fuel injection system.

The 1.6-liter Hyundai G4FG engine has been produced at the concern’s Chinese plant since 2010 and is installed on many popular models, such as Elantra, Creta, Rio or Solaris. This unit belongs to the Gamma II line and in fact it is an updated version of the G4FC engine.

Engine Hyundai-Kia G3LC

The Hyundai G3LC 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbo engine or 1.0 T-GDi has been assembled since 2015 and is installed on many compact models of the Korean concern such as i10, i20, i30, Kona and Kia Ceed. Based on this unit, Smartstream G1.0T turbo engines were created under the G3LE and G3LF indices.

The 1.2-liter 4-cylinder Hyundai G4LA engine has been produced in India and Korea since 2008 and is installed in almost all compact models of the concern, such as the i10, i20 and Kia Picanto. There are two generations of this motor, the second is equipped with Dual CVVT type phase regulators.

The 1.1-liter diesel engine Hyundai D3FA or 1.1 CRDi was produced from 2005 to 2019 and was installed on many compact models of the Korean concern, such as i10, i20, Rio and Picanto. There were two generations of this three-cylinder diesel engine for Euro 4 and Euro 5.

Engine Hyundai-Kia D4FC

The 1.4-liter Hyundai D4FC or 1.4 CRDi diesel engine was produced from 2010 to 2018 at a plant in Žilina, Slovakia and installed on models such as i20, i30, Rio, Ceed and Venga. There were two generations of such a unit: for Euro 5 environmental standards and updated for Euro 6.
