Hyundai Solaris

Hyundai Solaris is a South Korean subcompact car produced since 2011 by Hyundai Motor Company. Solaris is a 4th generation version of the Hyundai Accent model adapted for Russian operating conditions. The car is produced in sedan and hatchback body modifications in St. Petersburg, Russia. In 2014, the model has undergone an exterior update, as well as an improved drivetrain and front fascia. The model is also sold in the CIS countries.

Hyundai Solaris, 1st generation, 2011–2016

The car was similar to the fourth generation Hyundai Accent for the American and Korean markets and the Hyundai Verna for the Chinese market. The name “Solaris” was used only in Russia.

Sedans and hatchbacks were equipped with petrol engines of 1.4 and 1.6 liters (107 and 123 hp, respectively). Both of these power units of the Gamma series had the same cylinder blocks and differed in piston stroke. Gearboxes – five-speed manual or four-speed automatic.

In 2014, the model was restyled. Hyundai Solaris received a new front end design, different seat upholstery, steering wheel adjustment for reach and heated windshield in expensive versions. Cars with 1.6-liter engines after restyling were equipped with new six-speed gearboxes.

The car is equipped with petrol engines of 1.4 and 1.6 liters. At the beginning of 2020, a restyled version of the model entered the market.

Engine Hyundai-Kia G4FA

The 1.4-liter Hyundai G4FA engine has been produced at the company’s Chinese plant since 2006 and is primarily known as the base power unit of such models as Ceed, i20, i30 and Accent.

Engine Hyundai-Kia G4FC

The 1.6-liter Hyundai G4FC engine has been assembled at the concern’s plant in China since 2006 and is installed on many of the company’s mid-size models, such as the Ceed, i20, i30 and Soul.

Engine Hyundai-Kia G4FG

The 1.6-liter Hyundai G4FG engine has been produced at the concern’s Chinese plant since 2010 and is installed on many popular models, such as Elantra, Creta, Rio or Solaris. This unit belongs to the Gamma II line and in fact it is an updated version of the G4FC engine.

Engine Hyundai-Kia G4LC

The 1.4-liter 16-valve Hyundai G4LC engine was introduced by the company in 2014 and is known in many markets for such popular models as the Rio 4 and Solaris 2. In Europe, this power unit was found on the i20, i30, Ceed, Stonic and the fifth generation Accent.
