Disadvantages of the Renault F3N engine
- Unstable running is usually caused by the electronic injection system or the idle speed regulator, sometimes by intake air leaks or a cracked crankcase ventilation hose;
- Misfiring can be caused not only by plugs and leads but also by the distributor cap and corroded fuse box contacts;
- A faulty thermostat often causes overheating, after which the cylinder head or block warps;
- With careful maintenance these engines last 500,000 km and more.
