Mazda 2/Demio

Mazda 2 / Demio is a Japanese car of the subcompact class of the Mazda Motor Corporation line. It began to be produced in 1996. The Demio brand name is used for cars sold in the Asian market. The base model platform is Ford Fiesta. In total, 4 generations of the machine were produced, the last of which has been produced since 2014. The car has three body modifications – a 3- and 5-door hatchback and a 4-door sedan. The model is produced in Japan, Mexico and Thailand, sold in Europe, Australia, America and Asia.

Engine Mazda B3-ME

The 1.3-liter Mazda B3-ME engine was assembled at a Japanese plant from 1994 to 2003 and was installed only on local modifications of such popular models as the Familia and Demio. Such units of the last years of production in some sources appear under the index B3E.

Engine Mazda B5-ME

The 1.5-liter Mazda B5-ME gasoline engine was produced by the company from 1992 to 2002 and was installed on the popular Demio model in the Asian market and the basic modifications of Kia Sephia. There is a version of this unit with the B5-MI index and mono-injection instead of distributed.

Engine Mazda ZJ-VE

The Mazda ZJ-VE 1.3-liter gasoline engine was produced by the company from 2002 to 2015 and was installed only on the basic versions of the first Mazda 3 and two generations of the Mazda 2 or Demio. A particularly economical version of this motor operates on the Miller cycle and has the ZJ-VEM index.

Engine Mazda ZY-VE

The 1.5-liter Mazda ZY-VE engine was produced at a plant in Japan from 2002 to 2015 and was installed on the company’s most popular models with indexes 2 and 3, as well as Verisa. There was a modification of this motor without an inlet phase regulator called ZY-DE.

Engine Mazda SkyActiv-G 1.5

The 1.5-liter Mazda P5-VPS or SkyActiv-G 1.5 gasoline engine has been produced at the plant in Japan since 2013 and is installed on the company’s most compact models under the indexes 2 or Demio and 3 or Axela. There is a modification of this motor with the P5-VP index for the rear-wheel drive model MX-5.

Engine Mazda Y4 1.4 CiTD

The 1.4-liter Mazda Y4 or 1.4 CiTD diesel engine was produced from 2003 to 2009 and was installed on the first and second generations of the popular compact model under the index 2. This unit exists in one version of the Y404 and is a variation of the Peugeot 1.4 HDi engine.

Engine Mazda Y6 1.6 CiTD

The 1.6-liter Mazda Y6 or 1.6 CiTD engine was produced from 2004 to 2015 in two versions: the first generation units with the Y406, Y601, Y642 and Y646 indices were equipped with a 16-valve cylinder head, and the second generation engines with the Y650, Y655, Y661 and Y6Y1 indices equipped with an 8-valve cylinder head.

Engine Mazda S5-DPTS

The Mazda S5-DPTS or Skyactiv-D 1.5-liter diesel engine was introduced at the 2014 auto show and has since been installed in the most compact Demio or Mazda 2 model, as well as the CX-3 crossover. There is a modification of this diesel engine with the i-ELOOP recovery system under the S5-DPTR index.
