The Honda Ballade is a Japanese 4-door sedan compact car from Honda Motor Co., Ltd. Manufactured since 1980. The name of the model in translation from French means “ballad”. The model is essentially an analogue of Honda Civic for the domestic Japanese market. Since 2011, the 5th generation of the model based on Honda City has been produced for South Africa. At the same time, until 2001, under the name Ballade, Civic models were produced at the local enterprise.
The 1.6-liter Honda D16A engine was assembled at the concern’s enterprises from 1986 to 1995 and was installed on a number of such popular company models as the Civic, Integra or Concerto. The D16A motor existed in many versions, but they are divided into two groups: with SOHC and DOHC cylinder heads.
