The Honda D15 engine is a version produced in various modifications from 1984 to 2006. This engine does not have hydraulic lifters, so it is necessary to adjust the valves in a timely manner. The engine has an injection fuel supply system. Over time, the VTEC variable valve timing system on the intake valves was added to the engine. The engine has been modified more than once, and the number of variations of this engine is very large.
Among the weaknesses of the engine, the following are noted. Problems with the crankshaft pulley. Quite often they break, and in this case, it is necessary, based on the severity of the situation, to replace either the pulley or the crankshaft itself. There are also problems with the exhaust manifold, in particular, the engine can diesel. Most likely, in this situation, the exhaust manifold cracked. In addition, revolutions can float.
Usually the cause is a dirty throttle, and an idle speed sensor. Accordingly, cleaning is necessary. Over time, the normal operation of the engine may be disrupted, the distributors and lambda probes are short-lived. However, most of these problems occur after a decent run. Otherwise, the engine is quite reliable.
