The 1.5-liter Honda D15B gasoline engine was produced by the concern from 1987 to 2005 and was installed on many popular models of the company, and above all on the four generations of the Civic. There were versions of D15B with a carburetor and an injector, with 8 or 16-valve cylinder heads, and also with VTEC.
The D-series also includes internal combustion engines: D13B, D14A, D16A and D17A.
The engine was installed on:
- Honda Capa 1 (GA) in 1998 – 2002;
- Honda City 3 (SX) in 1996 – 2002;
- Honda Civic 4 (EF) in 1987 – 1991;

Disadvantages of the Honda D15B engine
- These engines are very reliable, but often begin to consume oil after 150,000 km;
- Up to 100 thousand km may require replacement: thermostat, pump or crankshaft pulley;
- Often the exhaust manifold bursts here, and welding does not help him for a long time;
- The culprit of floating revolutions is most often contamination of the throttle or idle valve;
- Valves require adjustment every 40,000 km, and the timing belt lasts about 90,000 km.
