Opel engines

OpelAdam Opel AG is a German automobile manufacturer formerly part of the General Motors concern. The headquarters are located in Rüsselsheim, Germany. The company was founded on January 21, 1863 and began producing cars in 1899. Since 2017 it belongs to the PSA concern.

The name of the engines of this manufacturer consists of two numbers and three or four Latin letters:

  • The first letter here indicates the environmental standard: C – Euro 1, X – Euro 2, Y – Euro 3, Z – Euro 4, A – Euro 5;
  • The next two digits indicate the volume of the engine in liters multiplied by 10;
  • The remaining letters describe the unit, for example D – diesel, and T – the presence of turbocharging.

Engine Opel Z17DTH

The 1.7-liter Opel Z17DTH or LPZ diesel engine was produced from 2003 to 2010 and was installed on a number of such popular concern models as Astra, Corsa, Combo and Meriva. This unit was equipped with fuel equipment manufactured by both Bosch and Denso.

Engine Opel Z19DT

The 1.9-liter diesel engine Opel Z19DT or 1.9 CDTi was produced from 2004 to 2010 and was installed on such popular models of the German concern as Astra, Vectra or Zafira. This 8-valve engine was created by Fiat and was installed on Saab under its D207E index.

Engine Opel Z19DTH

The 1.9-liter Opel Z19DTH or LRD diesel engine was produced from 2004 to 2010 at an enterprise in Germany and was installed on such concern models as Astra, Vectra and Zafira. This 16-valve engine was created by Fiat and was installed on Saab as the D207L.

Engine Chevrolet Z20S1

The 2.0-liter Chevrolet Z20S1 or Z20DM or LMN engine was produced from 2006 to 2011 and was installed on such popular concern models as the Lacetti or Captiva. This diesel engine was developed by the Italian company VM Motori and has its own index RA 420 SOHC 16V.

Engine Chevrolet Z20S

The 2.0-liter Chevrolet Z20S or Z20DMH or LLW engine was produced from 2006 to 2011 and was installed on many popular models of the company, such as Captiva, Epica or Cruze. This power unit is essentially a VM Motori RA 420 SOHC 16V diesel engine.
