Toyota Chaser

The Toyota Chaser is a mid-size sedan from the Toyota Motor Corporation brand. Produced from 1977 to 2001 in six generations based on Toyota Mark II. Official sales of the car were carried out only in the Japanese market. However, a large number of used cars were sold in the Russian and Southeast Asian markets. The name of the model literally translated from English means “to pursue”.

Engine Toyota 1G

Toyota G series engines are 6-cylinder inline engines. The engines of this series were produced from 1979 to 2006. All engines have the same displacement of 2 liters (1988 cc). The drive of the gas distribution system of all engines of the series was carried out using a timing belt.

The 2.5-liter Toyota 1JZ-GE engine was assembled at the Tahara Plant in Japan from 1990 to 2007 and was installed in popular rear-wheel drive models with automatic transmission only. There are two versions of this motor: the 1990 model and the 1995 model with the VVT-i system.

Engine Toyota 2JZ-GE

Toyota’s 3.0-liter 2JZ-GE engine was assembled at the Tahara Plant in Japan from 1991 to 2007 and fitted to the company’s popular rear wheel drive models such as the Aristo, Crown and Mark II. There are two modifications of this motor: a 1991 stock model and a 1997 version with VVT-i.

The 3.0-liter 24-valve Toyota 7M-GE engine was produced by the company from 1986 to 1992 and was installed on such popular models of the Japanese concern as the Supra, Chaser, Crown and Mark II. This power unit was distinguished by an unusual arrangement of valves at an angle of 50 degrees.
