Engine Toyota 6GR-FE

The 4.0-liter V6 Toyota 6GR-FE engine has been assembled at the concern’s Chinese plant since 2013 and is installed only on the third generation of the Coaster bus, which is popular in the local market. This power unit is essentially a type of second-generation 1GR-FE engine.

Disadvantages of the 6GR-FE engine

  • Chinese owners note high reliability, but fuel consumption is high;
  • The problem with the crackling of the phase regulators, proprietary for the GR line, is also here;
  • Keep the cooling system clean, the cylinder head gasket breaks very quickly;
