The three-liter EZ30 engine was the flagship engine of all large Subaru cars for a full decade (1999-2009). It replaced the EG33 and in turn was gradually superseded by the more modern EZ33. Subaru Legacy/Outback
Subaru Legacy / Outback is a Japanese off-road and compact class station wagon. Produced by Subaru since 1989. Legacy was created to conquer and oust the competitive models of its class from the North American market. In 1996, the Outback all-terrain vehicle was released on its base, the name of which literally sounds like “wilderness”. Since 2014, the 6th generation of the Legacy model has been released. The name of the car is translated as “heritage”. Cars are made in the USA and Japan.

The EJ25 engine, which had a displacement of 2.5 liters, was launched by Subaru in 1995. The block of this engine was identical to the block of the EJ20 engine – just like its older brother, it was made of aluminum alloy and had a height of 201 mm. The production of EZ 36 boxer motors began in 2007 at the Japanese Gunma Oizumi Plant and continues to this day. EZ 36 is a unit designed for gasoline with an octane rating “95”. Engine Subaru FA20
The FA20 is a completely new two-liter engine with an aluminum cylinder block. It is compact and takes up minimum space in the engine compartment. With its power ratings, this engine consumes a minimum of fuel, having fuel economy indicators in mixed mode at 7.8 liters per 100 kilometers. Engine Subaru FB25
The FB25 boxer engine is an aluminum 6-cylinder injector with a nominal displacement of 2498 “cc” and a pair of light cylinder heads, each equipped with two camshafts. Gas distribution scheme – 16-valve DOHC, compression in the range of 10.0-10.3 (after 2014). The camshafts use a dual AVCS system, each driven by a maintenance-free timing chain.
