Engine BMW M62B46

The BMW M62 engine was released to replace the M60 and was produced from 2001 to 2003. The design is an 8-cylinder piston engine. The gas distribution mechanism in the M62B46 versions is equipped with the VANOS variable valve timing system. The pistons are cut out to the ring area. Engine BMW N62B48

BMW N62B48 engine has two versions. Engine displacement, power, bore and stroke are the same for both versions: the displacement is 4.8 liters (4799 cc), the bore is 93 mm, and the piston stroke is 88.3 mm. The power output of one version is 265 kW (360 hp) at 6200 rpm and torque of 500 Nm at 3400 rpm. The second version develops power of 367 hp (270 kW) at 6200 rpm and torque of 490 Nm at 3400 rpm.
