The 2.5-liter Nissan QR25DER engine was produced by the Japanese concern from 2013 to 2017 and was installed on hybrid versions of such models as the Pathfinder, Murano and Infiniti QX60. This motor stands out for its Atkinson economy cycle operation and Roots type compressor.
The QR family also includes internal combustion engines: QR20DE, QR20DD, QR25DE and QR25DD.
The engine was installed on:
- Nissan Murano 3 (Z52) in 2015 – 2016;
- Nissan Pathfinder 4 (R52) in 2013 – 2016;
- Infiniti QX60 1 (L50) in 2013 – 2017.

Disadvantages of the QR25DER engine
- This power unit is afraid of overheating and the cylinder head gasket breaks through it regularly;
- Violation of the temperature regime quickly leads to the occurrence of rings and oil burn;
- The use of low-quality fuel greatly reduces the life of lambda probes and catalyst;
- A short-lived timing chain often stretches and needs to be replaced before 150,000 km;
- It is also worth noting that some spare parts for this motor are rare and very expensive.
