The 1.3-liter Toyota 1NR-VE engine has been produced since 2015 in Japan and put it only on compact models that are offered in the automotive markets of Southeast Asia. The engine in all modifications is equipped with a variable valve timing system Dual VVT-i.

Disadvantages of the 1NR-VE engine
- On specialized forums, they complain only about the oil burner and the loud operation of the motor;
- Quite often, ignition coils and a water pump fail here.
