Disadvantages of the Land Rover PT204 engine

  • Despite the short production period, the engine has already been marked by a whole bunch of problems;
  • The first years of production of this engine, the charge air pipe was often torn;
  • Due to too long bolts for fixing the crankshaft pulley, the oil pump wedged here;
  • Another small resource is the clutch of the phase regulator on the intake camshaft;
  • After 150,000 km of run, it is often necessary to replace the timing chain.
