Engine Isuzu 6VD1

The 3.2-liter Isuzu 6VD1 V6 gasoline engine was produced by the concern from 1991 to 2004 and was installed both on the company’s SUVs and on their counterparts from other manufacturers. There were two versions of the engine: SOHC with a power of 175 – 190 hp and DOHC with a power of 195 – 205 hp.

Disadvantages of the Isuzu 6VD1 engine

  • This powertrain is very reliable but is known for its high fuel consumption.
  • You also need to understand that this is a rare motor and it will not be repaired at any service station.
  • Most of all, owners of SUVs with such an engine complain about the oil burner.
  • In second place is the failure of fuel injectors or hydraulic lifters.
  • Once every 100,000 km, a belt requires replacement, and every 300,000 km, timing rocker axles.
