The Toyota FJ Cruiser is a Japanese compact SUV vehicle from the Toyota Motor Corporation. Years of production – 2006-2014. The retro-styled car was first unveiled at the 2003 Chicago Auto Show. In appearance, the car resembles a model of the 60s – Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. The car has a platform Toyota 4Runner, in common with Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 120. The FJ Cruiser was produced only in Japan and was initially sold in the United States. Since 2008, the car began to be sold in Australia and Mexico.
The 4.0-liter V6 Toyota 1GR-FE engine has been produced in factories in Japan and the USA since 2002 and is installed in many pickups and SUVs, but is best known for the Land Cruiser Prado. There are two generations of this power unit: with VVT-i and Dual VVT-i type phase regulators.
