The 1.8-liter Mazda S8-DPTS or Skyactiv-D 1.8 diesel engine was first introduced only in 2018 and is installed only on the latest generation of the Mazda 3 model, as well as the CX-3 and CX-30 crossovers. There is a diesel version under the S8-DPTR index, equipped with the i-ELOOP recovery system.
The Skyactiv-D family also includes internal combustion engines: S5‑DPTS and SH‑VPTS.
The engine was installed on:
- Mazda 3 BM since 2018;
- Mazda CX-3 DK since 2018;
- Mazda CX-30 DM since 2019.
