The 3.0-liter Isuzu 4JJ3 diesel engine has been assembled at a plant in Japan since 2019 and is installed in the popular MU-X SUV, D-Max pickup truck or similar Mazda BT-50. This power unit is essentially a seriously upgraded version of the 4JJ1 engine.
The J-engine line also includes diesels: 4JB1, 4JX1, 4JG2, 4JJ1, 4JJ3.

Disadvantages of the Isuzu 4JJ3 engine
- On specialized forums, he is not particularly scolded and often complains only about vibration loading.
- The fuel system from Denso turned out to be quite demanding on the quality of diesel fuel.
- As always, a lot of trouble is caused by contamination of the particulate filter and the EGR valve.
- There are no hydraulic lifters here and periodically you need to adjust the valve clearance.
