Engine Geely JLH-4G20TD

The 2.0-liter Geely JLH-4G20TD turbo engine has been produced at the Chinese plant since 2018 and is installed on the popular Preface sedan, Xingyue S crossover and many Lynk & Co. models. This power unit is essentially a modification of the famous Volvo B4204T19 engine.

JLH family: JLH-3G15TD, JLH-4G20TD, JLH-4G20TDB, JLH-4G20TDJ.

Disadvantages of the Geely JLH-4G20TD engine

  • No serious complaints about this engine were found on specialized forums;
  • Like all direct injection units, it is prone to carbon deposits on the valves;
  • Some owners note fogging in the crankcase ventilation and leaks in the crankshaft seals;
  • It is also important to monitor the condition of the timing belt, since if it breaks, the valves bend.
