The 1.9-liter Fiat 186A9000 engine or Doblo 1.9 multijet was assembled from 2005 to 2010 and installed on two models of the concern, such as the Multipla, as well as the second generation Doblo. This diesel unit was equipped with a simple 8-valve cylinder head without hydraulic lifters.

Disadvantages of the Fiat 186A9000 engine
- This is a simple and resourceful diesel engine, and there are no ever-falling intake flaps here;
- Bosch fuel system is reliable, problems appear only at high mileage;
- Most often this is expressed in strong engine vibrations, as one of the nozzles is pouring;
- Also, the engine can often stall due to clogging of the dosing valve on the injection pump;
- The weak points of this unit include the mass air flow sensor, the EGR valve and the booster pump.
