Engine Volkswagen BUB

The 3.2-liter injection engine Volkswagen BUB 3.2 VR6 was produced from 2005 to 2010 and was installed on charged versions of the R32 Golf and Eos models, as well as the Audi A3 or TT coupe. Some confuse such a motor with a similarly sized VR6 FSI unit of the EA390 family.

The EA360 series includes: AAA, AQP, ABV, BUB.

The engine was installed on:

  • Volkswagen Eos 1 (1F) in 2005 – 2008;

Disadvantages of the VW BUB engine

  • Firstly, the power units of this series consume unreasonably much fuel;
  • And secondly, although the oil consumption is less than its predecessors, there are still enough complaints;
  • Timing chain has a very limited resource, and replacement is difficult and expensive;
  • In the unstable operation of the engine, the failure of one of the ignition coils is often to blame;
  • The sophisticated cooling system for two pumps is not famous for its reliability.
