Mercedes has developed a new 4-cylinder OM924LA engine for trucks and semitrailer tractors with lifting capacities ranging from 6.5 tonnes to 15 tonnes. These motors offer an excellent combination of performance and low weight.
If we compare the Mercedes OM 924 LA with a 6-cylinder engine with the same parameters, its weight is about 100 kg lighter. This gives a significant advantage in terms of payload. Later, the developers created several modifications of the Mercedes OM924LA engine. These were six-cylinder engines with higher power and efficiency.
