The OM904LA engines of the German company Mercedes are power units designed for Mercedes-Benz Atego trucks, the carrying capacity of which ranges from 6.5 to 15 tons. Motors of this modification fully satisfy the operational needs in terms of power and economy.

The engines are equipped with four in-line cylinders with a total volume of 4.25 liters. Power in various modifications ranges from 102 to 177 hp. In comparison with analogs, these ICEs, with an excellent ratio of volume and power, provide lower fuel consumption and high traction characteristics.

OM904LAModernization 2004-2006 affected the environmental parameters of the series, bringing it closer to the requirements of Euro 4-5. Increased torque at the same speed and power of the motors. Supercharging with pre-air cooling is used, BlueTec technology is introduced. Emissions have dropped dramatically – up to 80%, while the power is not affected, and the savings are even more noticeable.

The most modern versions meet the requirements of Euro-6, being the leaders in the class. And the changes in the sensitivity of the motor were noticeably reflected in the ride quality. This is especially evident on difficult sections, ascents, with frequent stops and movement in dense traffic.
