Engine Mercedes OM661

The OM661 engine is a collaboration between SsangYong Motors and Mercedes-Benz. It has 4 cylinders, a split combustion chamber and a working volume of 2.3 liters. Engines of the 661 series were equipped with such cars as SsangYong Musso (Tagaz Partner), SsangYong Korando (Tagaz Tager), as well as some Mercedes models.

This engine is similar to the OM662 engine, the only difference is that OM661 does not have an additional (fifth) cylinder and, accordingly, OM662 has a different fuel equipment. Motors SsangYong (OM661 Mercedes) have increased reliability, efficiency, and ease of maintenance.
