The 3.8-liter gasoline engine Hyundai G6DJ or Genesis 3.8 GDi has been produced since 2011 and is installed on many rear-wheel drive models of the company, especially under the Genesis brand. This motor is also found under the hood of executive class sedans such as Equus and Quoris.

Disadvantages of the Hyundai G6DJ engine
- First of all, units with GDi injection suffer from carbon deposits on the intake valves;
- Also, the occurrence of piston rings and the subsequent oil burner are often found here;
- Keep the cooling system clean, the aluminum block prevents overheating;
- On long runs, timing chains can stretch, and replacing them will be expensive;
- And do not forget to adjust the valve clearance, since there are no hydraulic lifters here.
