The FR 152 engine is a 4-cylinder, turbocharged, intercooled diesel engine with a displacement of 4.5 liters. Power 152 kW (207 hp) at 2100 rpm. Maximum torque 760 Nm at 1400-1800 rpm. Clean combustion with selective catalytic reduction (SCR), post-treatment for Euro 5 emissions.
The cylinder block is reinforced with a cast iron frame, the cylinder bores in the block are straight. Also, the DAF FR152 engine is equipped with a one-piece cross-flow head covering all 4 cast iron cylinders.
DAF FR 152 pistons are made of an aluminum alloy, nickel-resistant with a symmetrical return combustion chamber and cooling system.

This engine also has a common rail fuel injection system, electronically controlled injectors, and an electronically controlled injection start and timing system. The combination of high pressure Common Rail injection and SCR post-treatment technology contributes to very precise control of the combustion process. The highly efficient combustion results in excellent fuel economy, as another advantage of the FR 152 engines.
