Cummins 6CT / 6CTA 8.3 – 6-cylinder in-line diesel engine with a volume of 8.3 liters, designed for use in power plants or similar industrial equipment.
- 6CT – turbocharged;
- 6CTA – turbocharged and air-to-air intercooler;
- 6CTAA – turbocharged and air-to-air aftercooled.
The engine has built a solid reputation over the past 25 years in commercial maritime transport. Ideal for standby power supplies or marine power supplies, power and hydraulic installations, and fire pumps. IMO Tier I certified; many features are IMO Tier II certified. The engines are manufactured at the Darlington Engine Plant in Darlington (UK).
