The 2.2-liter Toyota 5S-FE engine was assembled at a factory in Japan and the USA from 1989 to 2001 and was installed both in Celica and MR2 sports coupes and in a regular Camry sedan. In the American market, a gas version of the power unit was offered under the symbol 5S-FNE.

Toyota Scepter is one of the main names of the Toyota Camry model, produced in the third generation – XV10 for the foreign market. The car was manufactured in Japan and Australia, as well as in assembly workshops in the USA, Germany and South Africa. In total, more than 100 thousand copies of the car were produced. In addition to the main body version – a sedan, the car was also manufactured in a station wagon. The Scepter model name translates to “scepter”.
