The EA113 1.8 engine of the Volkswagen EA827 segment was released in 1983. This engine was produced in both carburetor and injection versions. In addition to the differences in the injection system, the EA113 1.8 internal combustion engine had a turbocharged and atmospheric version. The turbine appeared on this engine in 1994. Audi 100
The Audi 100 is a family of business-class passenger cars produced from 1968 to 1994 by the car manufacturer Audi AG. The cars were manufactured in the body of a sedan, station wagon, coupe, hatchback in front- and all-wheel drive modifications. The number 100 in the name of the model meant the engine power of the first generation car, which was the highest performance for a car of this line at that time. In total, four generations of the model were released. In 1990, a hybrid version of the model was released – the Audi Duo, and a year later – its second generation.

The EA827 1.6L engine was developed back in 1985. It was a block with a short-stroke crankshaft of 77.4mm and cylinder diameters of 81mm. Engine with one camshaft and eight valves in the cylinder head (SOHC 8V). The engine versions with injection technology on the intake shaft were equipped with a variable valve timing system.
