The Volvo D13A520 engine is a 12.8 liter, 6-cylinder in-line engine with an overhead camshaft, 4 valves per cylinder and unit injectors. The engine complies with the EU Euro-3 emission standard. Equipped with turbocharger and intercooler, single cylinder head and electronic fuel injection system.
D13A520 provides superior performance, high reliability and great fuel economy. The camshaft drive is located at the rear of the engine, which reduces vibration and allows a power take-off to be mounted on the rear of the engine. The cylinder block and cylinder head are made of cast iron to ensure reliable engine operation.

The engine is equipped with an EMS electronic control system for highly efficient control. This module is reliably protected, mounted on rubber mounts and housed in an aluminum casing, in which the electronic components are cooled by the flow of fuel in the cooling circuit.
In addition to its high engine power, it also has a low noise and emission level complying with Euro 3. The crankshaft and camshaft are equipped with hydraulic shock absorbers that reduce vibration and noise. The lowest noise level is achieved at idle.
