Engine Mercedes OM403

The Mercedes OM403 engine is a 10-cylinder V-shaped engine. This unit was developed in the early seventies and was installed mainly on trucks.

A characteristic feature of the engine of this model is a special modular layout, which allowed to reduce the prime cost of the engines. As a coolant in the Mercedes OM403 engine, ordinary water is used, which, on the one hand, makes it cheaper to operate, and on the other hand, increases the number of potential problems and malfunctions associated with the effect of water on engine elements.

Mercedes OM 403 10-cylinder engines with a working area of 15.9 liters are capable of delivering power at the level of 320 hp. (235 kW). Each cylinder is equipped with two valves. These motors are highly efficient and reliable.
