The Electronic Control Module (ECM) has a standard data link that accepts input from all drivetrain components, creating a continuous stream of information that is used in conjunction with a high-speed network. The high processing power of the ECM maintains an optimal balance between load elements, fuel efficiency and emissions control.
The HPCR (High Pressure Common Rail) system of the engine can operate at extremely high pressures and provides precise control of the combustion process. In addition, it is capable of generating injection pressures that provide improved and faster power delivery, low noise levels and fuel economy.
The Wastegated Turbocharger, developed by Cummins Turbo Technologies, delivers exceptional performance across the entire power range, as well as improved responsiveness through higher torque at low revs. The range includes the latest class-leading oil and fuel filtration systems designed by Cummins Filtration to provide superior engine protection.
Cummins ISF 3.8 is Euro 4 compliant. Emission compliance is achieved using Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology. In trucks and light buses, SCR is the most economical method for reducing NOx emissions, as well as the best technology to optimize fuel efficiency, allowing the engine to run cleaner. The SCR system at ISF is a fully integrated internal design developed by Cummins Emissions Solutions. In fact, Cummins is the only diesel engine manufacturer to have patented integrated core technologies, from air intake to exhaust aftertreatment.
