The 2.5-liter Opel X25XE or Ecotec L80 engine was produced from 1994 to 2000 in England and was installed on charged versions of such well-known models as Vectra, Omega, Calibra. An even more powerful modification of this power unit with the X25XEI index was also proposed.
The X20 series also includes engines: X20SE, X20XEV, X22SE, X22XE and X30XE.
The engine was installed on:
- Opel Calibra A (C89) in 1996 – 1997;

Disadvantages of the X25XE engine
- Grease often oozes from under the valve cover and sometimes penetrates into the spark plug wells;
- The oil cooler is also not famous for its tightness, from there the lubricant enters the antifreeze;
- The oil receiver is close to the sump and blocks it in case of any damage;
- The timing belt resource is approximately 60,000 km, and if it breaks, the valves will bend 100%;
- This engine is afraid of the cold and in severe frost there will be problems with starting.
