Engine GM LSY

The 2.0-liter GM LSY turbo engine appeared in the American concern’s lineup in 2018 and is installed on models such as the Buick Regal, GMC Acadia, Cadillac XT6, Chevrolet Equinox and Malibu. The power unit is distinguished by the presence of an Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation system.

The third generation of GM Ecotec includes: LSY, LTG, LCV, LKW.

Disadvantages of the GM LSY engine

  • Motors of the first years of production were recalled to replace a defective temperature sensor;
  • Like all direct injection engines, it suffers from carbon deposits on the intake valves;
  • In comparison with its predecessor, the timing chain resource has grown and it serves up to 200,000 km;
  • The rest of the complaints are related to noisy operation in some modes and oil leaks.
